In the last How to Allow blog post, “Are You Using Your Full Power?,” we talked about leveraging the power of the Universe, how our emotional state is so much more important than any action taken because our alignment is exponentially more powerful than any action taken from a place of mis-alignment.  When we’re in alignment, we have not only our own effort working on our behalf, but the energy that creates worlds working alongside us.  Abraham has said that “By bringing yourself to the feeling that you seek and giving 99% of your attention to inspired action—you will be in a place of powerful motion forward while you exist in a continuous state of joyful well-being.

There is no doubt in my mind that this is the way we were meant to live and that my mood, my emotional state, is my top priority.  When I’m at my best, I’m taking the time to do the Daily Rituals from “How to Allow,” to line up my energy before undertaking any tasks in my day, before making phone calls, sending an e-mail, or spending time with friends and family.  I’ve seen the proof that everything, absolutely everything, goes so much better from this place of alignment.

Sometimes, when I can get into that really great vibration of enthusiasm and confidence and loving what I’m doing, it’s as if the whole world has lined up to be helpful to me.  People are more kind, traffic moves, strangers offer assistance, support arrives, money comes in, and I feel as if the day is a miracle in progress.

Of course, I’m not always in that incredible state of vibration.  Life would come to a halt if there weren’t some desire for improvement that calls the energy of our Source through us and leads to our expansion.  I’m trying to learn to appreciate the value of that contrast in creating an expansive life, although I’m looking for less dramatic contrast and more joy, tweaking of circumstances rather than high drama.  I think most of us feel the same way.

So the suggestion has been, focus on what you want and why you want it rather than the situation that needs improvement.  Focusing on why you want something usually emits a pure vibration that is a match to your desire.

There are times, however, when the situation that needs a real adjustment just won’t allow us to focus on our desire and why we want it while in a mood of positive expectation.  The situation is simply filled with too much negativity and, despite our best efforts at improving our thoughts, the Law of Attraction keeps assisting us in attracting even more negative thoughts about our circumstances.

In that dicey situation, we’ve discussed ignoring the negative reality as much as possible and focusing on the aspects of our life that we can appreciate.  Making peace with where we are is a true foundation for Allowing in the positive changes that we’re hoping to bring into our lives, and that important process is given it’s proper due in the course and e-book, “How to Allow.”

But, what if it just feels impossible to appreciate almost anything in the remote vicinity of our desire? Perhaps we want and need, for example, more money, and anything remotely associated with the subject of money sends us into a negative loop of worry, insecurity and fearful thoughts.  Or perhaps someone in our life is experiencing a serious health problem and it seems that it’s the only thing we can think about.  Perhaps we have our own health issue and we are actually feeling physical pain, which makes it impossible to focus on anything positive in our experience.  No matter how vibrationally aligned any of us may be, and how much we’ve improved our circumstances, we’ve all undoubtedly been in this kind of situation where it feels impossible to get into a state of appreciation.  Just how do we move gracefully out of that limbo?

Abraham has suggested that, when it feels impossible to appreciate anything related  to our desire, that we go “general,” that is, that we not focus on the specifics of our desire or current situation but that we focus on the most general things for which we can feel appreciation.  When things feel really bleak, what could we focus upon “generally” that would raise our vibration and get us back to where we want to be?

It helps me to remember, as beautifully put by Abraham, that:

“You are never, ever, ever alone.  You are always embraced.  You are always understood.  You are always adored.  You are always cared for and well-being is always pre-paved before you.  In other words, you do live in an environment of absolute grace.  And the more you practice thoughts of that and watch for evidence of that and speak it, you beat the drum of it whenever you see it.  In other words, we love it when we hear you say, ‘I am so blessed.’  I am so blessed?  Because, there is something about those words that says at the same time, ‘Not only are good things coming to me but I am finally understanding my deservability in the good things that are coming’.”

When you can remember and focus upon the fact that you are never alone, that you are blessed, that you do live in an environment of absolute grace and that things will get better and better as you learn to raise your vibration, your point of attraction will immediately begin to rise.  And, if you can keep that up, even for a very short time (as little as seventeen seconds), you’ve immediately begun changing the quality of what you’re attracting into your life.  And, things will start to get better and better and better.

What else could we think about in “general” terms, raising our vibration while avoiding the specifics that are creating a loop of negative thoughts in our minds?

We can remember:

That we know more now about deliberate creation than we did when the current circumstances were created.

That we’re on the right track.

That we’ve actually come a long way from where we were.

That things usually turn out well given a bit of time.

That Source Energy is aware of us and loves us.

That we now are aware of our emotional guidance system, which alerts us to negative thinking at an earlier stage before it muddies our vibration.

That we are exactly where we are supposed to be.

That we have the freedom to choose whatever we want.

That no one can assert anything into our experience unless we  attract it.

That we are in charge of our thoughts and our vibration.

That we are worthy of everything we desire.

That Source always sees the best in us.

That Source is always calling us.

That everything we want has already been created for us and is just waiting for us to adjust our vibration to match it.

That we have the power to raise our vibration, and change our  experiences, anytime we want.

That we’ve been successful at lots of other things, so why not at thinking the best thoughts we can, at being deliberate creators?

That we can do it, because “we are never, ever alone.”

Before you know it, going “general” will improve your mood, your vibration, and you’ll be able to focus on the many things in your life that really are worthy of appreciation right now.  You just couldn’t get into that field of appreciation before from where you were standing.  And, you’ll be able to think about the specifics of what you have now and what’s on it’s way to you while you feel appreciation.  And, that’s a state of pure grace.  And, that’s How to Allow yourself to be, do or have anything you want.
