I can always use a reminder of not making such a big deal of this process of creating what I want in my life. This is true, even though I’ve written a book designed to create a simple roadmap with two daily rituals that really work to create more deliberately. We all occasionally fall into old habits or forget to do our rituals or find ourselves in a situation, which we’re choosing to view as huge contrast, and we just feel stuck.
As I was driving the other day listening to a new Abraham CD, a man posed a question about creating more money in his life. I think he said he’d like to have a billion dollars, or something along those lines. After thinking, what else is new, the creation of dollars seems to be a huge issue for so many people who are otherwise good manifestors, I got totally drawn in by the dialogue and the solution.
There have been so many discussions of the money issue, and so many good processes offered, but this time, in a very simple way, the discussion took a turn, which made it seem actually relatively easy to change our vibration on the subject of money. It was acknowledged that it can be hard to feel what it’s like to have the money if you’ve never really had any quantity of money before. I think that’s a big stumbling block for many people. Or, even if you’ve had a reasonable amount of money, but are in the midst of a shortfall, it can be difficult to focus on anything but the lack of money and the need for money, and the need for money now. So, how do you create that feeling before any money has arrived?
The questioner was having a hard time even describing how he’d feel if he had no financial pressure or had the freedom to do what he wanted. His vibration was still pretty mixed because when he tried to focus on getting to do what he wanted, he was simultaneously focused on not having to do what he doesn’t like to do. His focus wasn’t really going to create a pure vibration on the subject of abundance.
So, Abraham asked what was the “last thing you saw that made you feel excitement when you saw it?” It turned out that a BMW would create some excitement for this guy. Even though that wouldn’t be the thing I’d choose to create a feeling of excitement, where Abraham led him had a huge impact on me and made me feel like I could go out and manifest just what I want relatively quickly by keeping it easy and simple.
As Abraham pointed out, a big part of the satisfaction we feel when we create something is in the knowing that we did it. “I did this. I’ve got this. I so love the feeling of my abundance.” And we don’t get that feeling of satisfaction and happiness if we don’t deliberately conjure our point of attraction.
I love the way the dialogue went from here. Abe helped him to conjure a real feeling of excitement about his very own BMW: “Does it feel secure? Did it feel easy to slip into? How does it smell? How does a car like that handle on the road? Easy. And when you find a road that has a lot of tight turns . . . it sits right down on the road, it has such good suspension, so well engineered. It makes me feel thrilled that someone can build a machine with that attention to detail. Every time I get in it I feel ready to go. Every time I get in it I feel good. It’s not silly to engineer an emotion about something. I love the feeling of my BMW. But it’s hard to find the feeling until you focus on it a little more specifically. We asked you a very specific question, which led you in a very specific direction.”
“We asked you what was the last thing that when you thought about it you felt excitement about it? Because there are lots of thoughts about money that don’t bring a feeling of excitement. It brings a feeling of responsibility, instability or bondage or absence of what you want. But that was something that was pure. When you thought of it you felt just a little bit of well being about it, you felt enough excitement about it, that you could pick up on the vibration and fill in your grid with some details that left you in a different vibrational point of attraction. That’s the work. And, you don’t go on and on until you feel like a crazy person. You leave it and then you come back to it often enough that you give yourself a feeling of abundance . . .”
The questioner mentioned that previously he had been trying to visualize more abundance and a happy relationship but that he wasn’t making any progress.
The response was: “When we know the basic law and we know that when you find the vibration that the grid will fill in, the only explanation that we have for that is that you might be doing it and then noticing the absence of it and then you might be doing it and noting the absence, so you have a grid of what you want and a grid of the absence of it and what you’re living is always a reflection of the dominant grid you’ve got going on relative to anything. Our response is to do it more and feel better when you do it and do it more and feel better when you do it and stop talking about what’s not working . . .”
And, this is the part I really loved:
“You just have to care enough about shifting a little energy within yourself that you’re willing to stick with it until the energy shifts. AND FRIENDS, THIS IS NOT A DIFFICULT THING. YOU SHIFT A LITTLE ENERGY WITH AN EXERCISE THAT MIGHT TAKE FIVE OR TEN MINUTES AND THE GRID WILL START FILLING IN TO GIVE YOU EVIDENCE OF THE SUCCESS THAT YOU’VE HAD. YOU CAN GET MOMENTUM GOING RELATIVELY EASILY. IT’S JUST A MATTER OF CARING ABOUT HOW YOU FEEL AND BELIEVING . . . WE WANT YOU TO SHOW YOURSELF YOUR POWER OF ATTRACTION BUT YOU CAN’T IF YOU DON’T DELIBERATELY CONJURE YOUR POINT OF ATTRACTION. IF YOU DON’T DELIBERATELY CONJURE YOU DON’T RECOGNIZE THAT YOU’VE DONE IT.”
Somehow, the simplicity of this exercise, despite everything I’ve done before to visualize what I want, struck a chord with me. First, I don’t have to visualize being wealthy, just something that might come from being wealthy that creates excitement for me. Second, I just need to focus on this thing, which creates excitement, for five minutes or so without contradicting myself. And, then my grid will start filling in relatively easily.
And, I think all of us who are involved in becoming more deliberate creators care enough about shifting a little energy that we’re willing to stick with it until the energy shifts. So, for now, let’s forget about any of those things that aren’t working, think about something that will create some excitement for us and really get into the feeling of it, every detail, every positive aspect of the creation, and then let it go and believe. And, then we’ll see our evidence, recognize we’ve done it, and there’s just no greater feeling of empowerment than that.
I’m off to conjure an image of something that creates excitement for me. It’s just too easy not to do it. Let me know how it works for you.
This is a great reminder for me, Susan, on what I would do if I had that billion dollars (million doesn’t seem so big any more!) I wouldn’t work is my first response and on reflection it’s more a statement of the working environment I’m used to and don’t want any more. Unless I can flow some greater energy and excitement into the more desirable alternative, e.g. learning to parachute, spending my days volunteering at my daughter’s school or travelling the world to see my friends in far-flung places, then I’m more susceptible to dwell on what bothers me. I need to fill my head with the possibilities of what I do want and crowd out what I don’t want. I imagine that’s one of the reasons why people struggle with becoming a millionaire because they have no exciting plans for it. And then, of course, the feeling of satisfaction in achieving ‘the impossible’ is what excites me, too.
Me, I don’t like to not work! But I do insist on doing work that is enjoyable, satisfying and has purpose, ideally a virtuous purpose, and haven’t worked that out yet!
Hi Susan, great post! can you please tell me what Abe CD you heard this on? thanks!
