I know that many readers have had this experience, as have my coaching clients. They have shared that experience with me. And, to be clear, I have been right there with you in experiencing this phenomenon. You’ve read a book, learned a principle, used the knowledge, and know it to be true. You don’t lack clarity when it comes to the information. And then, as time goes by, you have more experiences, more amazing manifestations, and also more challenges. Things have gone down in your world. You haven’t had a memory lapse or forgotten the principle that was so important when you first learned it, but something is different now. You re-read the book; you see a reference to the idea in a post or in a podcast. This time, you feel like you need to pay attention in a different way, and it feels odd because this is something you have known for quite a long time.
The principle remains solid; you haven’t forgotten everything you’ve learned. What has happened is that you have changed. Whether it’s been a year, a month, or even a few weeks, all of those intervening experiences and your reaction to them have made you a different person. We are not the same person we were last year or even a few months ago. So, reading that principle you know so well hits you in a new way. It has a slightly different impact. You see another nuance that perhaps you didn’t see before. And this is a good thing. It demonstrates that you have changed, and your circumstances can only change when you have changed.
So many people have shared with me that they’ve read How to Allow or You’re Not Stuck more than once, reread it often, or check in with it when they need a boost. And these people are very savvy about deliberate creation! If you promise that you will not find this too incredibly comical, I will confess to revisiting principles that I wrote about myself in a book or post. I am preparing to launch a new book, and as part of that preparation, I did reread the books I’ve written. And, okay, I will admit to this: I found myself taking notes from my own book. Seriously, when I noticed that I was actually doing this with a pen and paper, I did find it really funny at the time. I obviously do know this, but I am not the same person I was when I originally shared the principle in my book.
As my daughter said recently, when I asked how her 2-year-old’s swimming lesson went, she responded, “We laughed, we cried, we swam, we didn’t swim ……” That description of how things go could probably be applied to any of us when asked about what has occurred since we first learned about the Law of Attraction, deliberate creation, and all of the principles that make manifesting easier. We’ve laughed. We’ve cried. We’ve known just what to do, just what thoughts to think. We’ve not had any idea what to do or any clue as to better-feeling thoughts that might be helpful. Those experiences have made us different from the person who first began learning about manifesting and creating just what we want in our lives.
What has always been apparent to me and was something I included in How to Allow and many posts over the years is that appreciation is one of the best emotions we can reach for in our efforts to align with our desires. Of course, there is also love, joy, elation, and excitement, all great places to be. Yet, what is so especially helpful about being in a state of appreciation is that we can reach that from wherever we are right now. Nothing needs to change in that instant. And everything is being created now. With appreciation, we don’t need to jump over lots of hoops, reach new milestones, or achieve a long-held goal.
We need not do anything but begin from right where we are.
We can appreciate something, anything, that we have right now. Appreciating our comfortable home, our friends, our family, our pets, good food, music, that we know we are creating our own reality! It’s not at all difficult to find something to appreciate right now!
That immediately puts us on the pathway that leads straight to our sweet spot, to line up with our desires and speedy manifestations. One facet of our reality right now that I am spending lots of time discussing in my new book is that we are dealing with new and faster-moving energy now. Things can manifest more quickly and easily. We have more to work with. And appreciating one thing, or many things that we have in our lives right now, is the magic formula for kicking off our momentum and moving into alignment with our creations that are waiting for us.
While I have known this for a very long time and have lots of tools for raising my vibration, realizing the ease of moving into a state of appreciation from right where we are hit me in a new and helpful way now, and I really appreciate that.
